HOW TO PLAY: A Million Dreams on the cello from The Greatest Showman

It has been a bit of time but I have been working on getting more Youtube videos out to you on tips and tools to help you learn how to play your favorite songs on the cello. This week I just released a video with tips on how to play the song A Million Dreams from the movie The Greatest Showman.

I just love movie music, it really adds to the mood and feeling of what you are watching. I put out two versions of this song, one for more advanced players and one for beginning players. Everyone should get a chance to stretch their limits and try out different songs. It isn’t only for those advanced players.

Remember you can always play along with the actual track from the album. I purposely write the music out in the same key so you can play along with the track. It just makes playing the song more fun when you can hear everything else that is going on. While it would be awesome for you to play with my Youtube video cover, playing along with the track is fun as well.

Some of the bowings and rhythms may have you turned around. Take your time with it. Remember we are trying to mimic voices so try to pick bowings that can best imitate that and not leave you feeling jammed or that you are running out of bow. I explain a little bit of this in the video but feel free to reach out to me if you still have questions. Or you can also check out my cover video to see which options I chose to do.

Have any other questions? Let me know! I hope you decide to give this song a try and definitely send me the link to your playing! Good luck!
